Help for the House

Our journey through the "Me & My House" series continued this past Sunday at Highpoint AG Church with a practical and encouraging message titled "Help for the House". Pastor David Barnes focused on how we can access divine solutions for the real-world "shortfalls" we face in our individual, family, and church lives.
James 1:5 NASB But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and 1without reproach, and bit will be given to him.
Dealing with "Lack"
Pastor Barnes identified that every house eventually faces a "lack"—or leipo in Greek—which represents a deficiency, scarcity, or shortfall. Whether you are facing a deficit in your finances, a shortage of patience with your children, or a scarcity of peace in your marriage, God has a solution.
Asking for Divine Wisdom
Rather than relying solely on human advice, books, or education, we were challenged to seek Wisdom (sophias), which is God’s special insight and enlightenment.
How to Ask: We are called to aiteo—to be adamant in requesting God’s assistance for our tangible needs.
The Heart Posture: We must approach Him with respect, honor, and the full expectation that He will move.
God’s Character: The best news is that God gives generously and without reproach. He doesn't find fault with us for having a need; He simply desires to meet it.
A Moment of Healing: We concluded the service by standing in the gap for those needing healing—not just in their physical bodies, but in their emotions and finances. We believe that as we "tap the brakes" and seek God's wisdom, He will provide the help our houses need.
