The Path for Living

This past Sunday, April 28th at Highpoint AG, we kicked off a vital new series titled "Building Strong Houses." The atmosphere was charged with a prophetic hunger for the "Fresh Wind" of the Holy Spirit.

The Goal: A Strong House

Pastor David introduced the core vision for this series: our goal is to build houses that are STRONG. This isn't just about a physical building; it's about three specific areas of our lives:

  1. The Individual House: Your personal walk with God and mental well-being.

  2. The Family House: The health and spiritual foundation of your home.

  3. The Church House: Our collective strength as a local body of believers.

Assurance for Troubled Hearts

The message centered on John 14, a moment where the disciples were deeply troubled. Jesus provided the ultimate antidote to a troubled heart by revealing His identity. Pastor David broke down the three-fold promise found in John 14:6:

1. Jesus is THE WAY

Jesus is not one of many options or a "good suggestion." He is the exclusive path and the bridge for humanity to reach God the Father. Salvation isn't found in rituals or our own good works; it is found only by walking the path that Jesus paved.

2. Jesus is THE TRUTH

In a world of shifting opinions, Jesus is the final authority. He doesn't just teach the truth; He is the embodiment of divine reality. When our "Individual House" is built on His truth, the "spirits of fear" lose their power over our minds.

3. Jesus is THE LIFE

Jesus is the source of all life—both our physical breath and our eternal spiritual life. When we align our "Family House" with Him, we aren't just surviving; we are tapping into the source of eternal vitality.

The Exclusive Claim

The sermon concluded by emphasizing the weight of Jesus’ statement: "No one comes to the Father, but through Me." This exclusive route to salvation is actually a beautiful display of the Father's love, providing a clear and certain way home for anyone who believes.

Discussion Questions for Small Groups

  1. Pastor David mentioned three houses: Individual, Family, and Church. Which one do you feel is currently under the most "weather" or stress? How can the group pray for that specific area?

  2. How do you personally define a "strong" house? Does your definition align more with worldly success or with the "Way, Truth, and Life" described in John 14:6?

  3. Read John 14:1. Why does Jesus start with the command "Let not your heart be troubled"? What is the connection between our belief in Him and the peace of our hearts?

  4. Why is it important to view Jesus as "The Way" rather than just a "Teacher of Ways"? How should this affect how you share your faith with others?

  5. Why is Jesus’ exclusive claim—"no one comes to the Father, but through Me"—actually an act of mercy and clarity for a "troubled heart"?

  6. If Jesus is "The Truth," how do we practically filter the news, social media, and culture through His Word?

  7. How does viewing Truth as a Person (Jesus) rather than a set of rules change the way you interact with God?

  8. In what ways have you experienced Jesus as "The Life" in your physical body or your spiritual walk recently?

  9. During worship, we sang "Pour your spirit out." What does a "Fresh Wind" of the Spirit look like in a "Family House"?

  10. Pastor David noted that salvation isn't through rituals. How can we make sure our "Church House" stays focused on the Person of Jesus rather than just religious habits?

Join us next Sunday at 10:00 AM as we continue Building Strong Houses. If you missed the service, you can watch the full replay on our website or YouTube channel!
