This week at High Point Assembly of God here in Royse City, Pastor David Barnes shared a transformative message on the power of unity within the various "houses" we inhabit. Drawing from Joshua 24:15, we explored the vital necessity of alignment in our personal lives, our families, and our church.

If you missed the service or want to dive deeper into the "Houses United" framework, here is a summary of how we can apply these truths this week:

1. The Individual House: Finding Internal Peace

Your first "house" is your own body and personal life. God’s primary purpose for this house is fellowship—both with Him and others.

  • The Challenge: A house divided by fear, disorder, or disobedience cannot stand.

  • The Application: We must actively surrender our mind, will, and emotions to the Lord to receive the "inheritance" of a sound mind. When your internal house is at peace, you are better equipped to connect with those around you.

2. The Family House: Cultivating Unity at Home

The "Natural Family" represents the second house, where God’s purpose is rooted in oneness and healthy authority.

  • The Goal: Husbands and wives are called to be one before God, while children learn the blessing of obedience under parental authority.

  • Take Action: As we enter this "Year of Me and My House," consider attending the upcoming Couples Conference on February 13th–14th to strengthen your family foundation.

3. The Church House: Connecting Through Service

Finally, we belong to a "House of Choice"—our church family. This house exists for five specific purposes: Worship, Ministry, Evangelism, Fellowship, and Discipleship.

  • Moving from Supporter to Partner: Unity in the church house grows when we move from being mere observers to active partners.

  • Practical Fellowship: Simple acts, like our "Friend Therapy" time, remind us that a "good word" can change the atmosphere of the entire house.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Let’s commit this week to ensuring our houses—individual, natural, and spiritual—are united in purpose and peace.
